Claire L. Birdsong, MD, is board certified in family medicine. After earning her undergraduate degree at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, she obtained her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She completed her family medicine residency at Prisma Health Richland Hospital/University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia. Dr. Birdsong grew up the daughter of a family physician and registered nurse in Cameron, South Carolina. She has been in private family medicine practice in the Irmo area, where she enjoys being a part of the community. She sees older children and adults, and enjoys the full spectrum of life that family medicine encompasses. Birdsong enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and cheering on the Irmo Band. She occasionally dusts off her piano and flute to play at her church.
